How to download and install f.lux on your Mac
Step 1: Make sure that you have downloaded the app . You can get the app from here
Step 2: Next up, you need to open your Downloads folder
Step 3: To unzip it, you have to double-click Flux.zip, then you double-click again the F.lux to open
Step 4: When asked if you are sure you want to open “Flux”, click open
Step 5: Then, you need to click Move to Applications Folder and it will automatically move to its suitable location.
Step 6: Finally, you simply need to click Allow when you are requested to use your current location. You should do it since the app switches brightness and color based on the time in your area.
How to adjust the color changes in f.lux on Mac
By default, f.lux offers a default color range for Sunrise, Daytime, Sunset, and Bedtime. In the beginning, the default colors for Sunset and Bedtime can make you a bit annoying. However, the effect can be customized to your liking. Also, you are able to preset the effects for “Working Late”. It means that your screen will be bright for 14 hours and then skip right to the Bedtime settings.
Step 1: First of all, you need to click the f.lux icon situated at the upper right of your Mac’s screen ( it looks like a circle with a squiggly line through it)
Step 2: Then, you select Preferences
Step 3: After that, you need to to click custom colors
Step 4: If you wish to choose Daytime, you can have the color effects slider dragged to the left to adjust the brightness and hue of your screen
Step 5: If you want to choose Sunset, you can also drag the color effects slider to the left or right to change the brightness and hue of your screen.
Step 6: In case you prefer Bedtime, you can repeat the step 5
