In iOS, Apple includes a handy little feature, called lost mode. As the name suggests, the feature automatically locks iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch in an attempt to protect your personal data from the prying eyes. It also allows users to track their device if it gets lost or stolen.

How to enable Lost mode on your iPhone
iCloud serves as the best tool to enable Lost mode on your iPhone and iPad. The process is pretty simple and we will show you how.
Step one: First off, visit icloud.com on your iPhone or iPad and then log in using your Apple ID details
Step two: Next up, select Find My iPhone from the list and then hit the green dot on the map
Step three: Click on the “i” icon next to the name of your iPhone. After that, select Lost Mode from the list of options and hit Confirm
Step four: Enter the passcode to confirm (if you have not set up a passcode on your device, you will be asked to create one)
Step five: Once you are done, provide your phone number (make sure you enter the phone number where you can be reached and then hit Next
Step six: Once everything has been set up, you will get a message saying “This iPhone has been lost. Please call me”. You can enter a new message that will be shown with your phone number your provided earlier.
How to put your iPhone or iPad into Lost mode
Step one: Launch Find My iPhone app from your home screen and then log in with your Apple ID details
Step two: Select the device you lost from the list and then hit the Actions button
Step three: Tap on Lost Mode and then hit Turn on Lost Mode. After that, enter the phone number where you can be reached and tap Next
Step four: Now just simply enter the message that will be shown up on your lock screen
Step five: Your iPhone is now in Lost mode.
