IPhone’s screen is getting bigger and bigger, making it harder for users with small hands to type up a storm on their iOS devices. However, iOS developer Steve Troughton-Smith has recently discovered a one-handed iOS keyboard hidden inside iOS platform. According to Steve, the keyboard has likely existed for several years, and it can only be activated by using the simulator in XCode.

However, if you are now using a jailbroken iOS device, you can get this one-handed keyboard by using a jailbreak tweak called OneHanded, and the feature works perfectly with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus or newer.

The newly discovered keyboard can be activated by a simple edge-swipe. Once enabled, the one-handed keyboard squishes character keys, while expanding copy and paste buttons, making it much easier for users to type using a single hand.

As mentioned above, you can use this one-handed keyboard on your device by installing the jailbreak tweak called OneHanded. Once installed, you can start using the entire keyboard which has been pushed over to one side of the phone, and many editing text shortcuts that come in handy. From now on, you no longer need to long press the text input to access copy/paste buttons. You can also go back to the original keyboard by swiping in from the left edge that is opposite to the text editing shortcuts.

According to Steve Troughton-Smith, the new one-handed keyboard has been around since iOS 8, which was unveiled in 2014, the same time when Apple introduced its first 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Besides, it seems that Apple is still working on the keyboard and will release to the public in the future.

Apple is making its iPhones much easier for small-handed users. This year, Cupertino-based Company launched its new 4-inch iPhone SE, which targets a large number of users who prefer one-handed operation.

Apple unveiled its highly-anticipated smartphones, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at its annual September launch event. This year’s iPhones may not come with an overhauled design, but it has some daring changes including the removal of the 3.5 mm standard headphone jack.
