Apple has just unveiled a few services, including TV streaming service, game subscription, and news and magazine subscription. However, out of all them announced, there is only Apple News+ service available right now. It’s Apple’s $9.99/month bundle with more than 300 famous magazines in the world, two reputable newspapers and a number of special collaborations. However, the bad news is that Apple News+ is currently available in the US and Canada regions. In this post, we’ll show you how to sign Apple News+ up if you live outside the US & Canada.
What To Do Before Adding Apple News+ Outside US
While Apple has limited Apple News+ to only US and Canada users, by the following workaround, you can still access Apple News+ no matter which country you are living in. Here is how to set up your iPhone/iPad before proceeding.
Step 1: Apple News+ subscription service was only added from iOS 12.2 update. So before doing anything, you need to update your device to the latest version by heading to Settings -> General -> Software Update and install the latest version on iOS.
Step 2: You need now to change the region of your iOS device. Simply head to Settings -> General -> Language & Region. From here, tap on Country > the United States. You can still keep the language the same as your country if you like.
Step 3: It’s time to switch to a US account. First, create a new iTunes account with the US as the main country. Open App Store > tap on your account icon > Sign Out.
WARNING:
Remember that your downloaded music library will also be removed once you switch the account to the US.
Step 4: Sign in your US account. If you don’t have one, visit appleid.apple.com to create a new account yourself.
Step 5: You now need to check out the payment method. Apple News+ is offering a one-month free trial. However, to sign it up, a valid payment method is required to add to your Apple ID. Currently, the only option to be working is an Apple Gift Card balance.
Apple News+ also supports Family Sharing at the same cost. So, if you know someone in the US who has previously subscribed to Apple News+, you can tell them to add you to their Family Sharing account.
